China-ASEAN Living Paper Industrial Park of Paper & Pulp

China-ASEAN Living Paper Industrial Park Takes Shape with Annual Production of 1 Million Tons of Paper and Pulp

The paper industry, as one of the traditional manufacturing sectors, has seen robust development in Guangxi’s Gangbei District. Leveraging the Guangdong-Guangxi Circular Industrial Park, the district has focused on decorative paper production, continuously attracting significant investments to accelerate the construction of the China-ASEAN Living Paper Industrial Park.

On March 7th, at the production workshop of Guigang Longpai Industrial Group Co., Ltd., located in the Guangdong-Guangxi Circular Industrial Park of the Guigang High-tech Zone, workers were busily engaged in cutting, packaging, and inspecting on the production line, working diligently to meet deadlines and fulfill orders, striving for a strong start to the year.

It is understood that the company, established by Longpai Group in 2020 with a total investment of 3 billion yuan, is being constructed in three phases. To date, 880 million yuan has been invested, resulting in the launch of 5 papermaking lines, 75 processing lines, 36 cutlery production lines, and 6 pulp molding production lines. The company’s main products include living paper, biodegradable disposable paper products, and related dispensers, primarily sold in Europe and America, creating jobs for 600 people. The company continues to increase R&D investment, equipping itself with advanced production facilities and implementing informatization to achieve automated production, thus establishing an energy-saving, green, and environmentally friendly base. The company has also introduced China’s first independently developed and manufactured hot air penetration drying technology equipment, doubling the water absorption capacity of paper towels compared to traditional dry crepe paper towels and surpassing the absorption rate of ordinary paper towels.

To meet international market demands, the company resumed normal production on the fourth day of the Lunar New Year, with a daily output of 200 tons of paper products. This year, it aims to achieve a production capacity of 100,000 tons and a production value of 1 billion yuan.

Similarly, at the pulp mill of Guangxi Guangye Guisugar Sugar Industry Group Co., Ltd., also located in the Guangdong-Guangxi Circular Industrial Park of the Guigang High-tech Zone, the machinery roars as raw materials undergo processes such as cooking, washing, and bleaching to produce bleached pulp. This pulp is then directly loaded onto vehicles and transported to downstream enterprises. The pulp mill has implemented intelligent equipment to monitor the entire process from raw material input to product output in real-time, achieving digitalization, networking, and intelligentization of the bleached pulp production process. Last year, the mill underwent a technological upgrade, investing over 16 million yuan in centralized control and intelligent optimization of electrical equipment, achieving energy-saving and stable high-yield production goals, and was recognized as a Guangxi Intelligent Factory demonstration enterprise for 2023.

With economic growth and increasing consumer demand, the need for paper products has also risen. Guigang City is dedicated to constructing the China-ASEAN Living Paper Industrial Park within the Guangdong-Guangxi Circular Industrial Park of the Guigang High-tech Zone. The park aims to introduce industries related to sugar syrup paper products that are informationally synchronized and circular, creating a characteristic circular socio-economic financial agglomeration area centered around the sugar syrup paper industry.

“From January to February this year, the production of air-dried pulp reached over 18,000 tons, with a target of 108,900 tons for the year. The pulp is mainly consumed within the park and exported, attracting paper production enterprises such as Longpai and Qifeng to settle in, forming an industrial cluster,” said Chen Huaqin, deputy director of the pulp mill of Guangxi Guangye Guisugar Sugar Industry Group Co., Ltd.

The China-ASEAN Living Paper Industrial Park is planned to cover an area of 2,243 mu, divided into seven functional zones: the Living Paper Post-processing Center Project, Jiezi Paper Industry Project, Three Centers Project, Piece Packaging Center Project, Papermaking Industry Project, Pulp Project, and Paper Products Logistics Center Project. In 2023, the park has begun to take shape, with 35 enterprises settling in, 95 new production lines added, and an annual production capacity of 1 million tons of paper and pulp achieved.
