China-ASEAN Household Paper Industrial Park Takes Shape with Annual Production of 1 Million Tons of Paper and Pulp
As a traditional manufacturing industry, the papermaking sector in Guangxi’s Gangbei District leverages the Yuegui Circular Industrial Park to focus on decorative paper production. The district is actively attracting investment and talent to accelerate the construction of the China-ASEAN Household Paper Industrial Park, thereby promoting the vigorous development of the paper and paper products industry.
On March 7th, inside the production workshop of Guigang Longpai Industrial Group Co., Ltd., located in the Yuegui Circular Industrial Park of Guigang High-tech Zone, workers were busily engaged in cutting, packaging, and inspecting on the production lines. They were fully committed to ensuring a strong start to the year by meeting tight schedules and fulfilling orders.
The company, established by Longpai Group in 2020 with a total investment of 3 billion yuan, is being constructed in three phases. To date, 880 million yuan has been invested, resulting in the launch of 5 papermaking lines, 75 processing lines, 36 cutlery production lines, and 6 pulp molding production lines. The main products include household paper, biodegradable disposable paper products, and related dispensers, with the primary market being Europe and America, creating employment for 600 people. The company continues to increase its R&D investment, equipping itself with advanced production facilities and implementing informatization to achieve automated production, thus establishing an energy-saving, green, and environmentally friendly base. The company has also introduced China’s first independently developed, designed, manufactured, installed, and operated hot air penetration drying technology equipment, doubling the water absorption capacity of paper towels compared to traditional dry crepe paper towels and surpassing the absorption rate of regular paper towels.
To meet the demands of the international market, the company resumed normal production on the fourth day of the Lunar New Year, with a daily output of paper products reaching 200 tons. This year, it aims to achieve a production capacity of 100,000 tons and a production value of 1 billion yuan.
Similarly, at the pulp mill of Guangxi Guangye Guisugar Sugar Industry Group Co., Ltd., also located in the Yuegui Circular Industrial Park in Guigang High-tech Zone, the machinery roars as raw materials undergo processes such as cooking, washing, and bleaching to produce bleached pulp. This pulp is then directly loaded onto vehicles and transported to downstream enterprises. The pulp mill has implemented intelligent equipment to monitor the entire process from raw material input to product output in real-time, achieving digitalization, networking, and intelligent production of bleached pulp. Last year, the mill underwent a technological upgrade, investing over 16 million yuan in the construction of centralized control and intelligent optimization of electrical equipment, achieving the goals of energy saving, consumption reduction, and stable high production. It has been recognized as a Guangxi Intelligent Factory demonstration enterprise for 2023.
With economic development and the continuous growth of consumption, the demand for paper products has also increased. Guigang City is dedicated to constructing the China-ASEAN Household Paper Industrial Park within the Yuegui Circular Industrial Park in the Guigang High-tech Zone. The park introduces industries related to the upstream and downstream of the syrup paper product information collaboration and recycling, creating a circular socio-economic financial agglomeration area characterized by the syrup paper industry.
“From January to February this year, the production of air-dried pulp reached more than 18,000 tons, with a target of 108,900 tons for the year. The pulp is mainly consumed within the park and exported, attracting paper production enterprises such as Longpai and Qifeng to settle in, forming an industrial cluster,” said Chen Huaqin, deputy director of the pulp mill of Guangxi Guangye Guisugar Sugar Industry Group Co., Ltd.
The China-ASEAN Household Paper Industrial Park is planned to cover an area of 2,243 mu, divided into “seven functional zones” including the household paper post-processing center project, Jiezi Paper Industry project, three-center project, packaging center project, papermaking industry project, pulp project, and paper product logistics center project. In 2023, the China-ASEAN Household Paper Industrial Park has taken shape with 35 enterprises settled in, adding 95 new production lines, and forming an annual production capacity of 1 million tons of paper and pulp.
